Hi, I’m Lucas, and I have a pretty exciting adventure that I am going to share with all of you over the year to come.
About three months ago, my parents sat me down at a diner on just a regular Sunday and told me something that would change my life, which obviously was that we were going as a family to New Zealand for a year. When they told me, I didn’t believe what they were saying was true or even realistic; as an adult, it may seem like the best thing that could happen, but as a kid finishing sixth grade, it’s quite frightening Even though I was confused and upset with the decision, they were understanding and did their best to resolve all of my worries. And yet now I still worry about what is to come and what I will miss out on here; I’m definitely going to miss my friends, school, pets, and family.
On the other hand though, I am going to the other side of the world! I know it will be an incredible experience and I will learn so many things along the way. For example, I knew that people drive on the other side of the road there, but I found it funny that the toilet flushes the other way. I know I will have a great time and can’t wait to see if the water is as clear as people say it is!
You are going to have a wonderful adventure…and we can’t wait for you to share some of it with us.
